Special Voters List

An elector may apply for entry on the special voters list if you are living in a hospital, nursing home or similar institution and you are unable to go in person to vote at your polling station due to a physical illness or a physical disability which is likely to continue for the duration of the register of electors now being prepared for the period 15th February 2021 to 14th February 2022. For a first time application Part B of the form must be completed by a doctor.

Postal Voters List for Electors with a Physical Illness or a Physical Disability

An elector may apply for entry on the postal voters list if you are living at home and are unable to go in person to vote at your polling station due to a physical illness or a physical disability which is likely to continue for the duration of the register of electors now being prepared for the period 15th February 2021 to 14th February 2022. For a first time application Part B of the form must be completed by a doctor.

Postal Voters List

An elector is normally required to vote in person at a polling station but an elector may apply for entry in the postal voters list if you are likely to be unable to go in person to vote at your polling station at an election or referendum which may be held for the duration of the register of electors now being prepared for the period 15th February 2021 to 14th February 2022. You may be eligible for a postal vote if you are: -

  •     An Irish Diplomat serving abroad and his/her spouse or civil partner;
  •     A member of An Garda Síochána;
  •     A whole-time member of the Defence Forces;
  •     Unable to vote at a polling station because of your occupation, service or employment;
  •     Participating on a full time basis on an educational course of study at an  educational institution in the State;
  •     You are in prison as a result of an Order of a Court.

If you are registered as a postal voter, you may vote by post only. You may not vote at a polling station.

Application forms for the categories listed above may be obtained from and should be returned to the Corporate Services Section, Roscommon County Council, Áras an Chontae, Roscommon F42 VR98, on or before 25th November 2020.
